are the mods going to be removed soon?

When I listened to the live stream back on the 27th nothing that specific was mentioned. Just that the leveling system for weapons would get a revamp of some sort. If that means removing mods entirely or change how they work, or for that matter leave mods as they are and the changes instead will be to the "skill tree" model I don't think has been confirmed.

If anyone is aware of any official statements please share links. Until then I'm as curious as the next person as to what if any changes will be coming the mod/weapon level mechanics in the near future as well as further down the road.

i found this forum interesting there talking abt everything .

if i got it good they are making the artifact and mod system fusionning them and totally re-making the skill tree.

Well, that's not the dev team though. That's players second gussing the dev team without providing sources. They may be absolutely correct, it certainly would make sense. But I can't see any definitive confirmation from an inside source that it's the case.

I didn't mean to suggest that you did.

But yes, that's what has me confused. I listened to the live stream the devs did too and I never heard them say anything as specific as that they were going to remove the mods. It makes sense and they did allude to reworking the mod/skill tree mechanic. But they were purposefully vague about it. It did sound like a rework of the current mechanic was coming but I haven't heard a hard confirmation from an official source yet that says that mods are definitely out. They could just get a substantial redesign.

Whether they rework or throw them out I'm looking forward to them hopefully doing something more interesting with the mechanic.

I think that they are working on a way to transfer hard earned mods to the new system.

It certainly would make sense, the current system is a little lackluster and not terribly deep. If anyone comes across a link to some official statement on the matter I'd love to see it. I'm very anxious to see what they actually do with the mechanic.
