economics tips for newbis Empty economics tips for newbis

Message  Guest Ven 10 Mai - 20:21

hello newbis!
as you may have noticed, Warframe has 2 currencies.
Credits, the "free" currency, and Platinum the paid currency.
you get credits for selling loot, picking up credits in game, and finishing missions successfully, and in order to get Platinum, you have to open your wallet.
but thats not that bad, you get 50 Platinum for free after you create your account.

now some tips!

1. the 50 platinum rule!
the first mistake newbis do (including me, when I've started playing) is spending the free 50 platinum on potatos (pro slang, blue potato = Orokin catalyst | yellow potato = Orokin reactor)
in my case, Iv'e used them to supercharge my Excalibur and Boltor, which is not a bad thing to do, but not the best either.
you need to spend the "Free" platinum on weapon and warframe slots, as thos are the only things you CANT get using credits and simply playing the game (while you CAN get "Free" potatos, plenty actually).

2. set a goal!
the first weapon you should aim for is not the Barton (even tho it will make things easier, as its better then the MK-1), instead you should tell us what your favorite play style and we will help you find the weapon that suit you best! (Don't ask here tho).
once you'v choose a weapon, start saving up.
you'l have to gain around 50K to craft a weapon, and a lot of resources (keep in mind that different planets drop different resources, and no planet drop all of them, also, some harder planets have a better drop rate for "Rare" and much needed resources).
the "normal" way of saving up, is abusing us! when ever a high-paying-alert is going on, simply ask us if we can invite you, and thats it, you'v just earned 10k! Very Happy(also, do missions, for resources)
the "hard core" way, will be like the normal way, just sell every mod you find. (not recommended, as some of them could be really rare)
you'l have enough to buy/craft the weapon in no time!

3. the "OMGINEEDIT" (omg I need it) rush
DE gives us new weapons, pretty much every other week.
that creates alot of excitement among players, who want that weapon, and want it now.
and I'm here to tell you, don't rush! get the Blue Print for free if you can (alert missions) but don't craft it just yet.
wait for someone like me, who craft everything the moment he can (for lulz, and just because I can) to tell you if its any good.
then, after hearing some opinions, decide if you want the weapon.
if not, sell the BPs (if you have any) as a part of Rule number 2.

4. choosing a new warframe
well, this step is bound to happen eventually.
after reaching level 30 with your starter warframe, you should start considering crafting a new warframe.
crafting a new warframe is the hardest thing to do in-game, as of now (Update 8 will bring us Frost prime, which is a spacial warframe that will be even harder to craft, but you don't have to worry abut that Smile)
the first thing you need to do, is step 2! but with a warframe.
ask us, and we will help you to choose the best warframe for you.
once a decisions was made, start saving up, a new frame will cost you around 100K credits, and ALOT of resources.
but before you even start dreaming, you need the parts!
what parts you ask? well, every warframe has its Blue Prints at the market, but thats not what you need.
every Frame is made out of 3 parts, helmet, systems and chassis.
thos parts need to be crafted, and can be obtained  only as drops from boss's (each boss drop parts for a different Frame, except Vor), ask us to help you in beating the boss, but keep in mind that the chanse of getting a part is small, and that you could get the same part a hundred times before getting the others.
it will take you up to a week to get the parts.
after you got all parts, buy the Blue Print from the market and start crafting (you'l need an Orokin cell, which drop from any boss).
and thats it! you crafted a new warframe!

NOTE : Banshee and Vauban are the only warframes that can't be obtained by this way (potentially, also Frost Prime), Banshee parts only drop as a reward for Raid, Capture, Spy, and Endless Defense missions and Vauban Parts drop only from '?' alerts. (as of UPDATE 7.11.0)

5. modding and you!
as you know by now, you can find mods, and thos mods will improve your weapon, warframe and Sentinels.
as you probably also know, you can fuse mods together.
so, before we talk abut tips, lets explain a little abut mods and fusion :
fusion : this process will make the mod better, but will also make it more demanding, and will cost you a healthy amount of money.
each time your mod increase in level, it effect will be greater (damage mods will do more damage, health mods will add more health, and chance mods will have a greater chance of happening) and the mod will also consume more mod points. (each weapon and frame get one mod points for level for a max of 30, 2 if its potatoed for a max of 60)
if you look closely, you'l notice that different mods have different symbols, thos symbols are the mod's Polarity.
you'l also notice that some weapons and frames, have mod slots with the same symbols.
if you match a mod with a mod slot that share the same symbol, the mod will use only 50% of the points it says it will use (so, a 8 point mod will use 4, a 15 point mod will use only 8, etc...)
if you'l match the wrong symbols, than the mod will use 133% of the points (so 6 points will use 8, etc...)
and blank spaces will make the mod use the exact number it says it will use.

now, after we got that, lets get to the tips!
- never fuse different mod! fusing different mod will cost you alot, and will give you almost no improvement.
- for max cost efficacy, fuse only duplicate mods. this process will cost you almost nothing (comparing to the other methods) and will give you a moderate improvement.
the down side is that its also the hardest thing to do, as mod drops are random.
- for max improvement efficacy, use fusion cores.
the cores will give you the highers improvement, but will cost the most (I had times it costed me 140K to upgrade my mod).

NOTE : different factions drop different mods, for a complete list, search the Warframe wiki. (i'm lazy)

6. spacial operations!
this rule is more for the clans benefit then the individuals benefit, so bear with me.
so, whats special operations you ask? well...
ones in a while, we get a special operation.
thos operations are just like an alert mission, but instead of happening in a single map, it happens in a single planets (for example, the first operation was in every map in Sedna), in addition, the operations continue for several days and you can replay them over and over again in order to contribute even further to the global goal.
the operations goal, once its achieved, unlocks a reward for every one who helped achieving it (even the most minimal help will award you).
the reward is great (the first operation awarded 100K credits , frost Prime BPs and was followed with a yellow potato alert), but there's a reason for the great reward, the goals are ridiculously hard to achieve (the goal foe the first operation was to kill MILLIONS of fusion Moa's, which then spawned only in Senda).
now you probably think "wait... you said it benefits the clan, but you only mentioned the awesome rewards we will get for our selfs." and you'l be right, I didn't motioned any thing abut what the clan will benefit... YET!
I'll mention is soon tho.
now i'll mention it. :3
the reason you have to do the operations over and over again, even tho playing it once will grant you the reward is that at the end of every operation, a list of the 100 clans that contributed the most to the progression of the operation is published, and thos clans will be granted with special clan projects and clan rewards!
we want thos rewards! and we want to preserve our statues! (we were among the top 50 in the first operation) and thats why every one should replay the operation until they are brain dead! remember newbie, you do it FOR BISCUIT!

7. The void!
I'm sure you know about the void already (and in that case skip a few lines forward), but if you don't then let me teach you!
the void is a spacial mission tire, its not Grineer, not Corpus and not Infested.
its the Corrupted! (which are basically all of the above)
the only way off getting to the void is using a void key, thos keys have different tires (the higher the tire the harder the mission and the greater the reward is) and different mission types. (Raid and Extermination only for now. 18/6/2013)
there are few ways of obtaining a void key :
1. defense missions.
2. login reward.

now, you have a key and you wonder what to do.
I'll guide you to void key ethics!
tier one keys are pretty much no-mans land, you can use them when ever you choose and even use them alone if you want. the prizes they offer are nice (some rare mods, 15K credits and allot of EXP) BUT we will prefer if you'l share them with the clan.
tier 2-3 keys are share-with-the-clan/friends-only-land, the prizes they offer are simply too great to claim them for your self (50-70K credits, rare BP's, Rare parts and huge amounts of EXP).
use the clan's forum to cheek if someone wants to join you're run, also cheek in our TS3 server and in-game clan chat, and after you get a group of 3-4 people, do the mission.
in addition, you need a strong and big group because the enemies on thos tier are pretty strong and high level (up to level 80 in tier 2 and over level 100 in tier 3) so you better team up with clan members, even some high-rank clan members (because we are cool, we are strong and we always have a weapon we need to level and the void EXP is just perfect for that Razz)
